The
facility
Each
villa is of 70-80 m², it has an independent entrance and its own
courtyard. Two of them have two floors.
The best way to describe
these large suites would be "Studio-houses". All of them have maintained
the traditional elements of the architecture of the 16th century.
The materials which have been used for the restoration of the
building are natural stone of Rethymno (alfa stone), cypress wood
and soil of the area.
The courtyards of
Monastiriako cover 450 m² with
Venetian style decoration and other elements of the period,
like a beautiful olive press, loopholes, and of course plants
and flowers of the Cretan vegetation. Apart from all this, there is a
swimming pool with hydro massage in the central courtyard, with a
panoramic view of the high montains and of the Cretan
sea.
In general
Monastiriako can be seen as the
meeting point of three civilizations and three cultures, the
Oriental, the Venetian and the Cretan. The guests
will experience unique moments of a bygone era within a uncomparable
architectural and natural beauty.
Ornamented by a circular pool, as you peer out
of the solid-stone columns of your atmospheric quarters and survey
the sweep of forested green hills.
An
old olive press still sits in the courtyard, cleverly acting as
an impromptu dining area. There are terraces, courtyards and patios
for those quiet moments.
